Hey everyone!
Just wanted to give an update on a few things!
First off, my pony sale will be ending TONIGHT at about 10 pm MST. So if you are wanting to get a pony plush at the SUPER discounted price, today is your last chance to do so before they go back to their regular pricing! I originally wasn't intending the sale to go on as long as it had, but I left it up for one very specific reason.
Kitties...
So for those of you who don't know, we take care of 4 little fur kitties in our home, one of which is a special needs kitty and has an auto immune disease. We also take care of a handful of outside kitties that rely on us for shelter, food and water, especially during the cold winter months (which apparently February counts as here in Idaho we've had more snow than we've had all Nov-Jan...). Not too long ago, we had one of our usual outdoor fur kitties show up at our front door with a burst abscess at the base of her tail. She basically had a giant hole in it and she had ripped out all the fur around it. It was bad.
We ended up getting some help from our local rescue to get the wound treated, but while we were at the vet we got some bad news. We paid to have her tested for FIV and she came back positive. :< And not only that, she was microchipped and when her previous owner was notified and told of her FIV diagnosis, they decided they didn't want her anymore.
I know that having FIV isn't a death sentence to a cat, and I could NOT put her down because of it. SO, we put her in our laundry room so she could heal from her wound, and we've been trying to find her a home where she can be a single kitty and live out her life indoors. We were thinking about adopting her, but since FIV is very contagious to other cats, and my special needs kitty is already immune compromised, it would kill him if he contracted the disease.
So then comes issue #2. My little special needs kitty. Shortly after we brought in our outside kitty to heal, my little kitty Gizmo got sick. We aren't sure how as they have literally had NO contact and he hasn't even been in her room, but he started throwing up, sleeping a lot more, and showed no interest in food and water. So that was a big scare. A couple days after that he started to perk up, but it's always scary when he gets sick because with his auto immune disease it can mean life or death depending on what he's sick with. Last time he was sick it was with Pneumonia.
So that's why I left my pony sale up longer than I originally intended to help pay for the kitties' vet bills.
So for those of you who are expecting plushies from me or an update or something, please know that I am still working on your plush, it's just been a very stressful time dealing with several sick kitties the past few weeks. I'll hopefully be updating here on DA with some new ponies here soon, and I'll be reaching out to a few of you waiting on ponies here in the next week or so.
Thank you all for your understanding! <3
